Who We Are
 Ms.
Koleva is a graduate of the National Lycee for Ancient Languages and Culture, Sofia, Bulgaria. Later, she obtained a MA in
English Language and Literature from the University of Sofia and a MBA from New Bulgarian University. She is a holder of a
Post-Baccalaureate Paralegal Certificate and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management. Dimitrina has gained extensive
knowledge of business management and international experience. While being a teacher of English in Bulgaria she also acquired
a pedagogical insight and understanding of children’s needs and aspirations. Dimitrina is committed to environmentally
friendly life style and practices. Her hobby is photography.
Dr. Tania Laakmann, Director
Dr. Laakmann is a member of the Association of the Bulgarian Artists. She holds
a MA in Textile and Fashion from the National Academy for Fine Arts in Sofia and a PhD
in Fashion Design. She has been a professor at the Varna Free University where she discovered
the pleasure of sharing her knowledge and experience with young people and motivating
their creativity and love for design. For 18 years Tania has been the lead instructor at the National Innovative
School in Sofia. In 2011, Dr. Laakmann approached Mithra
and offered her assistance with the artistic aspect of Mithra’s promotional materials
and fundraising activities. Her experience as an educator and artist is invaluable for Mithra’s endeavors.
Theodor Petrov, Treasurer  Dr.
Petrov has an impressive resume in the management of large governmental funds (NIH) as a Principal Investigator, interviewing,
hiring personnel and public speaking. His expertise as an internationally recognized neuroscientist and physician member of
Soc. Neuroscience, IBRO, the Editorial Board of J. Epithelial Biology and Pharmacol.) are invaluable in the assessment
of the needs of children targeted in our Program. Dr. Takoff is a graduate of the University of Sofia Law Department. He holds a LLM from University of Hamburg,
Germany, and a doctorate in law from the University of Sofia. In addition to being a professor at the University of Sofia
Law Department, Dr. Takoff is a practicing attorney. He has been a legal expert and consultant to numerous national and international
institutions and organizations, and is currently the Chairman of the Arbitration Court of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce
and Industry. He is a co-founder of the Institute for European and German Law at the University of Sofia Law
Department. |

 Suzanne Gabli, Project Manager Suzanne is currently the Executive
Director of Building Blocks Preschool and has been developing an Early Childhood Learning Community in Highland MI. Since 2004, she has been
mentoring teachers and parents on what quality Early Childhood Education is. "Children and Quality Learning Experiences
is a true passion for me. Nothing makes me happier than to inspire a teacher, parent or student. To see them get excited about
authentic learning at any age!" Suzanne believes that life is where children are filled with joy, competency, power and resourcefulness.
She believes that given challenges, support, kindness, and love their accomplishments are vast and outstanding. With
guidance, children together work hard, play hard and care for each other and the community around them while exploring new
and varied topics and questions. Suzanne is passionate about Early Childhood Education and has deep respect for children
and their natural instinct to learn with their many intelligences. She is an advocate for children of all ages. She
is developing a strong awareness of early childhood education in Highland, Michigan, community and promoting quality education.
